Bike Mechanic Jean Repair and Alterations

Jeans with tears from patch pocket at their corners and with major damage from bike sprocket to lower right leg and cuff. Patch pocket corners needing patched and reinforced. Right leg needing patch-panel, reinforcement, and alteration.

Patch pockets seam ripped away from damage. Triangle patches cut for strength and size. Triangle patches sewn on over holes and under pocket. Pocket sewn over patch and reinforced with straight stitch bar-tack run diagonally to distribute load into triangle patch.

Worn and loose material cut away from damaged leg. Seam ripped away from damage. Canvas, selected for durability, cut size for patch-panel. Sewn in at top. Preexisting jean seam closed. Non preexisting seam side sewn together. Turned inside out. Canvas and jeans sewn together for taper with inside seam. Turned right side out. Canvas hemmed over to front side. Sewn tightly near edge with multiple passes for strength and to minimize catching on bike sprocket. Taper should keep pants away from sprocket when riding.
